Are you UP for Photography?

Congratulations to all of you who entered our 2011 Photography competition, especially those who have had their photographs displayed! The standard of the submissions has far exceeded our expectations and it has proved very hard for our team to choose their overall winner.  This year our winner had sent in a number of entries so we could not choose just one favourite!

Alex Taylor is our winner for 2011 and you can see one of his photos below (to see all of his photos check out the 2011 online gallery), well done Alex!

We will now be hosting our new 2012 online photograph gallery on the UP for It website, displaying the best examples of photography sent in by you, our members. The best photograph will win a £25 voucher for a photography shop along with a framed copy of their photograph.

Submitting your photograph

Each month we will pick one new photograph chosen from all submissions. From January 2012 members who's work has been selected will be exhibited in our 2012 online gallery.

You can only submit ONE photograph each month so if you are unsure which to send in to us, ask your friends to help you choose. You can include a paragraph with your submission explaining why you like the photograph if you wish. Due to legal reasons we cannot accept any photographs that include people who can be distinguished and if more than one photograph is sent we will only consider the first submission (submissions won't be returned).

You can send your photo into us here via email (jpeg format please, minimum 72 dots per inch) or ask any questions; upforit@port.ac.uk .

Please don't be offended if your photo doesn't make it onto our website, we are expecting a large number of submissions and you it shouldn't stop you trying again next month!
