UP for It celebrates its 10th birthday in 2012 and we want YOU to write and design our special anniversary edition of the magazine.
Taking place in October half term - Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th October - we would like to recruit YOU to join the UP for It team. We are looking for members who have a passion for writing, a flair for journalism and an eye for design. If you think you have what it takes to create a magazine that is distributed to thousands then enter our competition to become part of the editorial team.
To be in for a chance of joining the team you will need to either write a 300 word article on a subject area of your choice or submit photos and design ideas for the magazine.
Top tips...
Your article can be based upon a subject or topic of your choice. You could write about a hobby, review a recent purchase or even give your view on a subject which you study at school. Don't forget you are writing for 11-16yr olds so you need to make sure you consider your audience.
Your photos and design ideas can come via email or through the post. You could maybe make a mock up of the magazine and tell us what colours and styles you would use to make it look appealing. Or you could send some of your favourite photos to us so we can see what your style of photography is like.
You will need to submit all entries by Monday 10th October (we will give you until after dinner!). You can email your entry to us upforit@port.ac.uk or you can post it to UP for It Club, Purple Door, University of Portsmouth, 28 Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth, PO1 2DD.
