Why did you choose to go to university?

I knew that completing a degree would enable me to choose what I wanted to do as a job and the freedom as to where I could do it.

Why did you choose Portsmouth university?

I chose the University of Portsmouth because it is one of the few universities offering a RICS (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accredited degree course and because Portsmouth is a great place to be a student.

What does your course involve?

On the BSc (Hons) Property Development we look at lots of different areas within the industry, from valuation to planning, investment and law.

Why did you pick Property Development?

Because the course seemed interesting and once you finish you can become a chartered surveyor.

What do you hope to do when you leave university?

Become a chartered surveyor and hopefully one day work for a multi-national surveying firm.

What are the best bits about university for you?

The night life and social side, as well as the facilities.

How did you find the transition from college to university? What help did you receive? If you moved away from home, how did you find it?

It was difficult moving away from home but everyone is in the same position and I soon got used to being independent. I wouldn't have it any other way now.
