Continuing with your studiesThe thought of choosing to learn after you have finished your Year 11 exams may not seem like an attractive one but here are many reasons why you should consider continuing on to further education (FE) after school.
FE is the first real time that you have the opportunity to manage what subjects you learn and how they are taught. It is your chance to take responsibility for your own learning. There are so many different options that FE doesn't have to be like school.
You will also have the choice of which type of institution you study at. There are four main FE providers:
Each institution will have its own structure and atmosphere which will provide its own benefits. Some institutions focus more on academic qualifications, whilst others are more geared to vocational and occupational courses, so it is important that you look at each option carefully.
You will have a much wider choice of subjects and qualifications than were available at school. Continuing with FE gives you a great opportunity to take up new courses that may not have been available to you before and may even become your passion and open you up to a whole new you!
FE will give you the opportunity to develop and build upon skills and knowledge that you gained at school, making you more employable and ultimately giving you more choice over your future career.
