Getting used to secondary school

For some of you the first couple of terms at secondary school can be fairly daunting, but try to look at the positives and make the most of your time while you are there. Compared to your junior school there is likely to be better facilities, more independence, more responsibility, a range of different activities during lessons and more choice in what you study, particularly in the last few years.

It may take a while to develop friendship groups, but this will happen with time. Remember everyone else is in the same situation as you! Try to get involved in school activities such as sports clubs, drama clubs etc and you will soon meet people with similar interests.

If you're struggling with school work or homework, then talk to your teachers - they are there to help you!
