I arrived for the workshop excited at the prospect of learning how to scratch n mix as a DJ and how to beat box using my voice. We spent the day with professionals of both. The musicians were very talented and were very patient considering we have never tried this type of music before. We were split into two groups and got the chance to try out both, coming together at the end to make a CD.

The day went too quickly for us so that must have meant that we were enjoying it. Luckily my sister was on the course with me so that made it more fun. Getting a CD through the post of our scratching and mixing with mc-ing over the top was a great way to remember the day.

Overall I thought that it was a new and exciting experience whilst being very enjoyable. I play the Clarinet so it was a completely different style of music for me. I would recommend this workshop as it was a truly fun day and I would do it again if I had the chance. A big thank you to all the staff at UP for It staff for a great day.
