When I turned up I did not know anyone. There was another girl there who I asked to sit next to on the coach as she was on her own too. Once I had found a friend to hang around with we arrived at Quob Stables. I love horses so today was a lucky day for me as there were over 40 applications for this workshop.
When we got into the building we were put into groups, beginners and novices. The first group to ride the horses were the beginners whilst the novices went for a stable management lesson. My friend has got horses so I knew a bit about this but I learnt loads more.
After stable management we put on our riding hats, got on our horses and started trotting round the arena. Then with that we started with one hand steering our horses. When we got off our horses my legs ached but it was the best feeling ever.
We had a spot of lunch and were given a presentation by Sparsholt College. It was amazing to see how horses work and she gave a really interesting presentation on working with horses as a career. Finally, near the end of the time at Quob Stables we were given a dressage presentation by a professional.
If you have a goal, which you would like to achieve, then I think you should definitely go to these UP for It workshops as they really do help you. This was a fantastic day out and thank you very much for this opportunity- it was amazing.
